Over a 1.5-year period, 4.7 miles of Alameda streets became Slow Streets. This program was extensively evaluated in fall 2024. WebbBy removing the physical distinctions between pedestrian, cycle, and vehicular spaces, shared street treatments force all users to share the street, increasing awareness and reducing motor vehicle speeds.
